Auditor calls Linn special election turnout pathetic

Yeah that's not much of a turnout

A special election in Linn County on Tuesday to determine how to elect county supervisors isn't drawing much of a crowd.

At the halfway point in voting (3:00 pm) barely more than 4,000 Linn County residents had cast ballots. That is a turnout of just under 4% of the 150,000 registered voters in the county.

Linn County Auditor Joel Miller called the turnout "pathetic" and revised his estimate of the eventual turnout from about 12,000 voters to about 10,000. That would be just seven percent of eligible voters.

Linn County voters settled the question of how many supervisors will lead county government last year. The decision was to drop from the current five supervisors to three.

Two observations:
1. How much effort did the county make to make sure people were aware that there was an election today? This is the first I heard of this election, I don't remember KCRG mentioning it at all until today.
2. Do people realize that low turnouts is why we had Gov Brainfart, why we now have his lackey Reynolds, as well as the likes of Sen Breadbags McCutyernutzoff and Sen Lawnmower?

First I heard of it was on IPR this morning, but thought it was sometime in the future.

Whoever set the schedule wanted to win I would guess.
