Three different things in this photo from the Kansas Speedway Sunday caught my eye:

1) Greenish tinge to sky
2) Shelf cloud

There were maybe 10 of the "waves" on each side of a central break, facing in opposite directions. I was so sorry I didn't have a camera. I've never seen anything like it since. So glad to know they have a name. Is there any meteorological explanation for them?
