Jobs plummet in Kansas at worst possible time for Gov. Sam Brownback amid budget crisis

The new jobs report released Friday contained all-around horrible news for Kansas Gov. Sam Brownback, the Legislature and Kansans themselves.

▪ Total nonfarm jobs in April fell by 2,300 over March.

▪ Total private sector jobs plummeted by 2,900 for the month.

▪ Kansas actually has now lost 300 total nonfarm jobs in the first four months of the year.

▪ The stateís usually rock-solid unemployment rate went up to 4.3 percent in April.

▪ Finally, over a longer time period, Kansas has gained only 11,300 total nonfarm jobs in the last 12 months. Thatís an average of fewer than 1,000 a month ó far short of the 2,000-a-month pledge that Brownback is hoping for in private sector employment.

All of this information comes at a time when the Legislature is desperately trying to close a $400 million revenue gap in the proposed budget.

1. The idiots in Knsas have only themselves to blame...

and I mean those who vote Republican.

They will probably double down and yank some more benefits for those below the poverty line.

2. The people of Kansas are getting what they voted for, so if they're unhappy . . .

it's appropriate that they suffer the pain until they vote the Republicans out.

4. I can offer no excuses for Kansas, they voted this in once and then twice. You get what you vote

for and apparently this is what the majority wants. It's a fly-over state, always was, then got better and then the Brownback regime destroyed Kansas. And, so, TPTB in Kansas think this is a huge magnet for Kansas, just everyone in the US wants to live in Kansas. These people are delusional beyond delusional. And, this is what the Koch regime wants the entire US to be like.

5. Brownbut

is a throw-away-politician.

Impervious to realities, he has his backup..koch who will
take care of him and guys like snotty scotty walker..forever.

If koch doesn't do this, he will get a rep by the gop politicos
as a fraud...

So the agenda by sam can be whatever he wants..as ridiculous as he wants..as painfull
for kansans as he wants.
