From 'guttersnipe' to 'scalawag,' Jon Stewart's feud with Kentucky senators continues

Jon Stewart has had so much to say about Kentucky's senators this summer, it almost sounds like he's running out of words.

The comedian and former "Daily Show" host broke out the dictionary this week to respond after Sen. Rand Paul called Stewart a "guttersnipe" following his response to Paul's efforts to slow the advancement of the 9/11 Victim Compensation Fund bill through Congress.

"He called me a guttersnipe," Stewart said Tuesday in an interview with CNN, in the hours after the bill was passed by the Senate on a 97-2 vote. "I have a mind to call him a scalawag and a ragamuffin. I'll escalate this."

He is in-your-face. He doesn't wilt. He's ready to push back. Democrats should take notes for this stance for 2020.
