Interesting local TV report on the 1st mechanized log hauler. Local boy developed the track system 120 years ago.

something like 600 manufacturers of tractors, many of which were steam. Steam tended to have tracks and iron wheels while gasoline engines had rubber tires. Yeah that link is a 404.
