from Anthony Brown:

We’ve got some really exciting news - This Sunday, President Barack Obama is coming to Maryland to lead an Early Vote rally for our campaign - and you're invited!

President Obama understands that working families face a clear choice between two very different futures in this election. He knows that unless we can get out the vote, Maryland could take a major step backward – but we’re not going to let that happen.

I can't think of a better way to fire up our team and highlight the importance of early voting than a major “Get Out the Vote” rally with President Obama. This is one event you won’t want to miss.

Sunday's rally is free, but you'll need a ticket to attend and space is limited.

1. Why? President Obama should go to Colorado

Even if he plans to go another time. Maryland is very safe for Democratic Party. Yes of course voting is important but so is winning in close races.

2. Um, well, it's a little too close for comfort

For example, the real clear politics site recently moved it from safe dem to likely dem. Republicans are fired up and democratic turnout is vital. It's a blue state, but had a republican governor the time before last.

Besides, it is practically in the President's back yard.

3. The Brown team is really worried, aren't they?

Bringing in the big guns -- Clinton and Obama -- to help out a Democratic candidate in Maryland?

4. just not taking anything for granted

8 years of O'Malley, and people forget that a republican governor can do damage even with a democratic state house and senate.

Lousy turnout and it is certainly conceivable that hogan could win.

5. Kind of ironic that if Brown loses it'll be largely because the people wanted Obamacare

... but O'Malley and Brown failed in implementing it.

6. I don't know about *ironic* but if you are talking about the website, it would sure be stupid

It won't be a policy issue. If the worst happens, it will be because of turnout. And if it is turnout, it will be because of republicans energized by other issues, like guns and taxes.
