Rally to support Syrian Refugees:
Host: Shana H.
Where: Lawyer's Mall, in front of Governor Hogan's house in Annapolis, MD
When: Friday, November 20, 4 p.m.
"Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free." These familiar words are engraved at the pedestal of the Statue of Liberty and represent the United States of America's promise to be a home to immigrants and refugees from all over the world.
Unfortunately, Governor Hogan has sent a request to the Obama administration to cease settlement of Syrian refugees in Maryland.
Will we turn our backs on refugees seeking the basic human right of shelter? Will we give in to the easy rhetoric of fear and hate? Now, more than ever, America needs to demonstrate moral courage and stand up for our fellow human beings.
We need your help to urge Governor Hogan to rescind his request and reconsider his stance.
Can you join us in Annapolis tomorrow at 4 p.m to urge the Governor to NOT shut the door on Syrian refugees?
