Somerville changes snow parking rules
By John Laidler Globe Correspondent October 20, 2015

Somerville is advising residents of a change in the city’s snow emergency parking rules. Starting this winter, the city is instituting an annually alternating policy for snow emergencies. Parking will be allowed on the even side of the street only during winter seasons that begin in an even-numbered year, and on the odd side of the street for winters beginning in an odd-numbered year. Until now, parking was restricted to the odd side of the street as plows pushed snow to the curb on the even side. Officials said the new policy is intended to ease concerns of even-side residents, who have long had to endure the buildup of snow and ice on their side of the street. Since this winter begins in an odd year, the first winter with even-side parking will begin in December 2016.

Lol

I too have Google. And I'm sure the other 7 DUers who live in Somerville appreciate the heads up.

When everything is news, there's no news.
