Contaminated strawberries served in some Lansing area restaurants

LANSING - Contaminated shipments of frozen strawberries recently linked to a Hepatitis A outbreak investigation were served in some restaurants across Ingham County and other areas of the state.

The strawberries have since been recalled, and there have been no cases of Hepatitis A linked to the strawberries in the area to date.

The Ingham County Health Department recommends that anyone who consumed the recalled strawberries in the past 14 days contact their health care provider or the county's communicable disease control division at 887-4308.

The strawberries were not sold directly to consumers in retail locations such as grocery stores, according to a news release, but rather were distributed through commercial product sales, such as restaurants.
