Recall effort eyes Trump-loving Kalkaska Village president
In a small town in northwest lower Michigan, there is a growing effort to remove the president from office.
Not President Donald Trump. He won 69% of the vote there. This effort targets Kalkaska Village President Jeff Sieting, a Trump enthusiast who sparked national controversy for anti-Muslim comments he posted online.
"We are exploring the viability of a recall," said Elizabeth Dunham, 27, of Kalkaska for Peace, a newly formed group of residents that promotes tolerance and inclusion. "If a recall is successful, it sends a message within our community and outside of our community that this type of behavior isn't tolerated."
Sieting (pronounced Seat-ing) insists that he doesn't hate Muslims, but he refuses to apologize for the remarks, or for other offensive things he has posted on Facebook. He said he's not worried that the controversy will harm his standing in a job he has held for seven years.

Sieting says that he doesn't hate Muslims, but thinks that calling for all Muslims to die isn't hateful.
