Oh great, Steve Bannon is coming to metro Detroit

President Donald Trump's former chief strategist and current chairman of the alt-right Breitbart News, Steve Bannon, will visit metro Detroit to speak at a GOP fundraiser.

The fundraiser will take place, of course, in Macomb County at the Andiamo Celebrity Showroom in Warren on Wednesday, Nov. 8 — the one-year anniversary of Trump's defeat of Hillary Clinton.

Bannon (who was depicted on SNL last season as the grim reaper) ended up leaving his position at the White House in August due to clashes with other members of the administration. He has since returned to Breitbart, which routinely attacks members of the GOP who don't fully support Trump.

So it's a little bit odd that Bannon is speaking at this GOP event in Warren — especially a GOP event that is called "The Republican Unity Dinner."

That is not in Detroit, is a county with a joke of a County Clerk and is full of racists. So, Bannon taking a visit to Macomb County is not surprising -- in the least.

The area being metro Detroit, Macomb County in particular. They are simply using the correct geographical terminology. Point in fact, Macomb County is part of the metro Detroit area (a.k.a. the Detroit metropolitan area). No one thinks that it is a part of Detroit, the city.

Lifelong Democrat, I live in Macomb County and I am NOT a racist nor are the people I hang around with. Having said that, there are plenty of racists who live in Macomb County, I agree with that. There are also plenty not-very-educated people here.

I disagree with your assertion that Macomb County is in Macomb County. That doesn't even make any sense. Maybe you meant to say that Macomb Township is in Macomb County. That would make sense.

My district was gerrymandered so that we no longer have a Democratic representative any longer.

With regard to Bannon, one can only hope that he is so toxic that any Repubs who go to see him will be tarnished.

2012- Obama 51.6/Romney 47.6
2008- Obama 53.3/McCain 44.8
2004- Bush 50.2/Kerry 48.7
2000- Gore 49/Bush 47

I think Obama had a really good ground game in Michigan overall and got his message across. Now, with social media trolls, it is going to be a more difficult endeavor, but not entirely impossible to overcome.
