Watch here: Grosse Pointe teacher delivers impassioned resignation speech at school board meeting

A Grosse Pointe North High School teacher delivered an impassioned resignation speech at Monday night’s Board of Education meeting.

“You don’t respect us. If you respected us you’d listen to us. You don’t appreciate us. If you did you wouldn’t make our jobs literally impossible to do. If you cared you would pretend you’re listening, at least.” said Sean McCaroll.

McCaroll went on to criticize the lack of response from the school board over emails he sent regarding concerns over the return to face-to-face learning in the district, as well as formally announcing his resignation.

Hopefully, he’ll find a way to stay in education but make some real needed changes.

in the US is almost always the least paid, and most ignored employee in the company.

In this case the teacher is the closest contact to the children and their parents. Teachers are frequently ignored by any one in management from principals on up.

You can make the case the same is true in most any American business you can name.
