Michigan split on Gov. Snyder's job as governor

Found this post on the Michigan Democratic Party Facebook page claiming that Gov. Rick Snyder has a 66% disapproval rating. I read the attached MLive.com article, and that article reported on Michigan State University's spring 2013 "State of the State" survey. In reality, it shows that the state is VERY divided on how the governor is doing:

Excellent: 6.6 percent
Good: 27.4 percent
Fair: 33.1 percent
Poor: 33 percent

Wow! Nearly a third of Michiganders would give Snyder thumbs up, another third thumbs sideways, another third thumbs down! Astonishing. More context from the MLive article:

The governor's positive ratings were relatively unchanged in the latest State of the State Survey, with 34 percent of respondents giving him "good" or "excellent" marks, down from 35.5 percent last fall but within the survey's margin of error.

Snyder's high-end ratings have fluctuated between 36.8 percent and 31.8 percent since taking office. His predecessor, former Gov. Jennifer Granholm, finished her term with 20.7 percent positive ratings, down from an initial high of 57.2 percent.

The MSU survey results are here. MLive's article was titled "Michigan State of the State Survey: Obama approval ratings climb, Snyder ratings still low" and was printed in the Flint, Grand Rapids, Jackson, and Muskegeon papers served by Advance Newspapers' MLive Media Group. The Detroit Free Press headline: "Survey: Snyder approval rating mostly unaffected by right-to-work law".

I agree Julie. It's really scary to watch our wonderful state being torn apart and sent so far back destroying any progress made over the years.

It has very little to do with Snyder's term of office. Granholm couldn't catch a break.

If people could actually get factual news and analysis in this newspaperless state, they might not be so sanguine about Snyder.

That's when middle and low income folks hit the reality wall of not getting anything back on their MI taxes, or even having to pay large sums. The sheet is gonna hit the fan shortly, and I hope the media wakes the hell up and reports the fact that Tricky Ricky's corporate buddies are the only one betting on the new tax laws.
