Am seeking a home hopefully together for two young captured feral (not very feral anymore) kitties. I have set up a FB page to try to help home them. They are a result of a poor feral female that had lived now into two winters on our property and we cannot have them breeding and creating a colony at our home. We are still hoping to catch her since we live by highway and street with chances of being eaten by other creatures.
So my elderly husband and I (seniors on one retired income and still paying off Student loans and house, having to drive to cities to help take care of elderly father's affairs, etc....) caught them and I have been pouring Charge card expenses (at least are getting some discounts)on them getting them ready for adoption. There has been an over-crowding of cats and kittens in the State and they have had nowhere to go. Was promised help through MNSNAP but all the Clinics are full for two months and cannot drive hours and hours away. I have eight mostly senior rescues of my own that need heart meds, medical treatments (one diabetic cat with deformed heart) and thyroid meds and cannot afford to even pay out right for spay and neuter set up for this Friday. It is $245 and
If anyone can help cut down this bill in any amount possible for me it would help the slide into the rabbit home that has begun. I am endangering and denying my pets own medical at this point. I have a senior father hours away, sick pets and a possibly soon to be homeless cousin orphan that I am trying to advise. I am spent. I do small projects to make the money for medical but this storm of events had made it impossible time wise to make any money. I can give information to help verify the Clinic in Baxter, MN. that will be performing the surgeries and I also have a Paypal account.
You can read about their situation here.https://www.facebook.com/minnesotahomelesskittiesjatmashiva
They are really friendly to me and beautiful but I can barely hang on financially and time wise and sadly because they have had no where to go they stay in an upstairs bed room. They need more attention and will easily become a great sweet pair of furkids. They are litter trained also and are clear of worms, heartworms, Fel. Luek., and have no shots due til next year. I have done this by taking my pets medical money in hopes of homing them. Just need to get them fixed so there are no more unwanted kitties and to find a safe place for them as we cannot due to age, finances, time, medical, etc....take them in. Wish we could but cannot. Thank you. glinda
PS: PM me if you have any way to help or have questions.

(21,946 posts)The people came to our house to get them and we could talk to them and see what kind of people they were. They all went to good homes. We gave them away free.
There are many who are without pets who really want them, but can't afford the fees the societies charge to adopt and were delighted to get them. One girl called to see what it would cost to spay and for shots.

(21,506 posts)if you cant care for them?
I dont get peoples obsession with "catching" strays.
My kids used to let my dog out all the time who would run the neighborhood then come home, except when people "caught" him. One time we lost him for two weeks only to find him in a neighbors yard...

(14,807 posts)We do not have an obsession with "catching strays". We did not want them to keep mating and returning, thus growing a family on our property. Our neighborhood has NO strays so it is unusual for the mother cat to have been homeless and retuning for two winters now. I even chipped the ice out form the home cover to get her a way out last winter otherwise she would have frozen shut in there at 30 below.
We had NO CHOICE but to capture and quit the breeding. I do not take this lightly. In a year we would have had more cats and more cats and I am not heartless to let the City come and kill them. We had thought we could get some sort of help but every place is over full and the Spay Neuter Program promised help but the Clinics are full.

(6,119 posts)BUT I will share with others. I'm glad you posted.
my cousin in IA just outside of Ames, IA gets to take one cat a month to the Vet clinic at IA state for a 10 spay or neuter for feral cats. It is great.

(14,807 posts)They are really healthy and with the right home, will soon be lap kitties. They just need a consistent situation where they can have more frequent human contact. They do interact with me and also take "meat" out of my hand. They play with string toys with me also. They just need a quiet (no children) or multiple pet household.

(6,119 posts)I hope so.
I need to update their photos. That might help. Problem is I have so little time for them. They cannot live like that isolated but they are really warming up better and quicker. The female has the biggest fluffiest tail that I have ever seen ever! HUGE!
