Highway Patrol: Zero traffic fatalities over New Year's holiday weekend

NEW BLOOMFIELD — There were no traffic related deaths in Missouri over the New Year's holiday weekend, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The counting period began Thursday at 6 p.m. and ended Sunday at 11:59 p.m.

The report stated there were a total of 406 crashes in the state this year compared to 1,247 crashes during the New Year’s counting period in 2020.

I know three different people who were involved in three different (minor) crashes on New Year’s Day.

It got slickety out there.
