Supporters of the Cannabis Freedom Act fill Capitol rotunda for rally
JEFFERSON CITY — People in support of legalizing recreational marijuana in Missouri gathered at the Capitol Rotunda Tuesday morning to show their support for House Bill 2704.
The bill, otherwise known as the Cannabis Freedom Act, is sponsored by Republican Representative Ron Hicks and would legalize recreational cannabis possession and sales.
Supporters at the rally wore shirts and held signs that said "Be wise, legalize."
Vernon McClanahan, a supporter of the bill and a host of an online talk show about legalization, said criminal justice reform is an important part of the bill.
