Missoula Friday night, anyone?

I'll be at Missoula Art Museum for a First Friday reception celebrating Chicago artist Chris Pappan's exhibition, "Ghost Images," from 5-8 PM. Enjoy live music by KBGA, a cash bar, and a gallery talk by the artist at 7 PM.

Pappan uses 19th century photographs and ledgers to make contemporary portraits inspired by underground comix, punk, and skateboard culture. Pappan will describe how he mirrors his subjects, distorts features or proportions, facets portraits, and reverses values to reimagine what otherwise would be a straight-forward rendering.

Chris is an awesome young man. I know his mother REALLY well.
