Omaha.com: Basketball coaches among 3 dead in school van-pickup crash
ANSLEY, Neb. — Three people, including two basketball coaches, died in a crash Friday of a Broken Bow Public Schools van and a pickup.
The crash occurred just before 4 p.m. one mile west of Ansley on Highway 2, Nebraska State Patrol Capt. Jim Parish said.
Parish said the pickup, which was registered in Custer County, was eastbound on Highway 2 when it crossed the center line and hit the westbound 2009 Ford Econoline van head on.
Broken Bow boys basketball coaches Anthony Blum, 24, and Zane Harvey, 38, were killed in the crash, according to a press release from the Nebraska State Patrol. Harvey was the driver and Blum the front-seat passenger of the school van.
