Conway Daily Sun columnist charged with credit card fraud
CONWAY Conway Daily Sun art columnist Cynthia Melendy was ordered held on $1,000 cash bail after being charged Friday with attempting to commit fraudulent use of a credit card, and police say at least four or five felony charges are pending.
Mattei said $1,000 cash bail would be appropriate because the crime is nonviolent and she has no prior criminal history. But he said he has four or five pending felony warrants that will be filed against her once they are complete.
"I feel she is a threat to the community, I feel she is a threat to all of us," said Mattei. "She is a threat to people across the country."
Mattei said police caught her using an American Express card that had been applied for in a Pennsylvania man's name. The man told police he has never had an American Express account.
