Santa Fe High teen charged with felony following Snapchat threat
Police arrested a 15-year-old Santa Fe High School student Thursday, saying he sent a photo to a classmate that showed him holding a gun and proclaiming he was going to shoot up the campus.
Santa Fe police Lt. Michele Williams said the boy has been charged with a felony after allegedly bringing a BB gun to school, and officers have placed him in a juvenile detention center. The incident prompted school officials to briefly order students and staff to "shelter in place."
Police on Thursday also released the photo they say the boy distributed through a social media site. In it, someone who cannot be identified is holding what looks like a handgun. The caption says, Boutta go shoot up sfh.
Thank goodness it was just a BB gun, Williams said.
