Republican Fornario backs Democrat Donnery for Orange County executive
WALLKILL – Republican Blooming Grove Town Supervisor Frank Fornario endorsed Democratic Orange County executive candidate Roxanne Donnery on Tuesday
The two served in the county legislature for years. Donnery continues to be a member of the lawmaking body.
Fornario said he is backing Donnery against his own party’s candidate, Chester Town Supervisor Steven Neuhaus, because of Donnery’s ability, integrity and honesty.
“Being a Republican, the decision is always difficult about party loyalty, but it’s time to put the people first,” Fornario said. “It’s about the people; it’s not about any political party, whether it is Republican or Democrat. My support is for Roxanne Donnery, who happens to be a Democrat. If she were Republican, I would support Roxanne Donnery the Republican.”
