New York City Council expected to override veto on paid sick days

NEW YORK (WABC) -- The New York City Council is expected to override Mayor Michael Bloomberg's veto of a bill requiring employers to offer paid sick leave to workers.

Supporters of the measure will rally on the stops of City Hall before the vote.

If the override happens, New York will become the most populated city with a paid sick leave law, giving more than 1 million people up to five paid sick days a year.

Bloomberg said businesses can't afford that when he vetoed the measure on Friday.
