Rensselaer County Executive Kathleen Jimino confirmed today that she was recently approached someone “involved in statewide politics for some time” to gauge her interest in running for lieutenant governor with Republican gubernatorial candidate Rob Astorino.

She said she’s not interested.

2. Westchester lawmakers seeking agreement with HUD

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. (AP) — Westchester County lawmakers are trying to rescue $5 million in federal funds that are being withheld in a battle over local zoning rules.

The Department of Housing and Urban Development warned last month that the money will go elsewhere.

It says Westchester has not submitted an acceptable analysis of whether any local zoning laws inhibit fair housing. The analysis is required by the 2009 settlement of a segregation lawsuit.
