With ‘over $200K,’ Teachout submits petitions to challenge Cuomo

Conor Skelding

New York Gubernatorial candidate Zephyr Teachout, who Thursday night said she had gathered more than 45,000 signatures to get on the ballot, expects a challenge to her campaign's effort to gain access to the ballot from the campaign of Governor Andrew Cuomo.

"We’re prepared for a challenge. We expect a challenge," said Teachout standing on the steps of the James Farley Post Office in midtown Manhattan with her running mate Tim Wu and their supporters, who held L.E.D. letters that together read "TEACHOUT DELIVERS."

At the Eighth Avenue post office, the candidates mailed petitions to the state Board of Elections for the Sept. 9 Democratic gubernatorial primary.
