Former Northern New York town clerk pleads guilty to embezzlement
MINERVA, N.Y. (WCAX) A former town clerk in an Adirondack town pleaded guilty to stealing thousands of dollars from taxpayers. It happened in Minerva in Essex County.
The state says Jordan Green now faces up to four years in prison and may also have to pay back the money.
They say Green funneled more than $9,000 of town money into her own bank accounts and stole a couple of thousand more to pay a retirement loan and medical bills.
She worked for Minerva for about five years and resigned in 2015 after police launched the investigation.
