Lovely Warren for lieutenant governor? Speculation starts
ALBANY - Another Rochester mayor as Gov. Andrew Cuomo's running mate?
Speculation swirled Tuesday after a report that Rochester Mayor Lovely Warren might be eyed by Cuomo as his lieutenant governor pick if current Lt. Gov. Kathy Hochul elects not to seek a second term.
Warren said the whole idea is news to her.
“I have not been contacted by the Governor’s Office and will not comment on speculation from Albany,” Warren said in a statement.
If Cuomo were to consider Warren, she would be the second Rochester mayor to be his No. 2: Robert Duffy left as the city's mayor in 2010 to be Cuomo's lieutenant governor.
