Madoff's former secretary seeks early release from prison

NEW YORK The longtime secretary of imprisoned financier Bernard Madoff should be released from prison in March because her advanced age entitles her to take advantage of a new prison reform law, her lawyer says.

By March 19, Annette Bongiorno, 70, will have served two-thirds of her six-year prison term and should be released to home confinement by then, according to attorney Roland Riopelle.

1. To me, the question is, When did she know, and when did she know it?

She is not in the slammer because she shared after work cocktails with Bernie. She was convicted for helping ruin people's lives.

Hell, Bernie is now 80. Under the same petition, he should be walking around Central Park, enjoying the fresh winter air. (However, in his case, he's probably safer where he is.)
