East Village rape suspect being questioned

NEW YORK (WABC) -- Police in Lower Manhattan are questioning a suspect in a sex assault that took place in the East Village early Monday.

The man is a Manhattan resident in his 30's.

Earlier Tuesday, police released surveillance video of the incident, which happened near East 7th Street just before 4 a.m.

Police say a 22-year-old woman was followed into her apartment and forcibly raped by an unknown male believed to be in his 30s.
