Cuomo, de Blasio warn of imminent hospital closings

Bill Lambdin

ALBANY - With Assembly members and state senators from Brooklyn looking on, the Governor and the New York City Mayor issued their warnings.

"Help delayed is help denied and we're at the point where if we don't get help the system is going to collapse and there will be closures and it's unnecessary," said Governor Cuomo.

"Over the last 12 years we lost 12 hospitals in New York City," said New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio. "Some got a lot of attention like St. Vincent's in Manhattan. Others got less attention but it was the same exact mistake played out over and over again."

The leaders say 1 out of every 4 Brooklyn residents lacks primary health care.

The greedy privatization crews will be looking for ways to convince non-profits to turn them over to private interests all over the country.
