Thompson, Quinn Land Mayoral Endorsements From Major Harlem Lawmakers

Candidates competed for the spotlight on Monday with dueling endorsements, as Democrats Christine Quinn and Bill Thompson got support from leading Harlem lawmakers and Republican Joe Lhota snagged a ballot line from the Conservative Party. NY1's Courtney Gross filed the following report.

Mayor David Dinkins and Congressman Charles Rangel strolled into Sylvia's, the legendary Harlem restaurant, on Monday to announce a familiar endorsement: they are backing Bill Thompson for mayor.

"I can't tell you how proud I am today to have the support of these two legendary New York leaders," Thompson said.

Both also endorsed Thompson's 2009 run for City Hall
