Baby critical after allegedly drunk firefighter hits pregnant woman in the Bronx

Eyewitness News
NEW YORK (WABC) -- An off-duty New York City firefighter is charged with DWI after police say he hit two women, one of them pregnant, while driving drunk in the Bronx Wednesday evening.

The woman, who was seven months pregnant, gave birth to a premature baby who is now on life support.

The incident happened at the intersection of White Plains Road and Westchester Avenue just before 6 p.m.

Authorities say 39-year-old Sean Farrell was traveling northbound on White Plains Road when he turned right onto Westchester Avenue and struck the two women, ages 42 and 38, in the crosswalk.
