NTSB identifies location of gas leak in East Harlem

Eyewitness News
EAST HARLEM (WABC) -- The NTSB released an update Tuesday on its investigation into last week's explosion in East Harlem, with the agency finding a gas leak adjacent to one of the two collapsed buildings.

The leak was found in a main service line next to 1646 Park Avenue. Investigators did not say whether the leak caused the explosion.

The NTSB released a series of findings in its report:

" The 8-inch cast iron/plastic main on Park Avenue between 116th and 117th streets failed the pressure test at the normal operating pressure. Tracer gas pumped into the main and a leak survey identified a leak adjacent to 1646 Park Avenue.
