Port Authority commissioner changed voter registration Tuesday to comply with residency rules

The Port Authority has repeatedly violated laws that require most of its New York commissioners to live in the five boroughs, according to a Daily News analysis.
The bistate agency has also repeatedly failed to comply with similar laws governing New Jersey commissioners, who are supposed to live within 25 miles from New York Harbor, The News found.
The matching laws, on the books in both states, include the residency requirements for four of each states six commissioners. The legislation states that the four must be resident voters of the designated areas for each state.
The 1921 congressional resolution that established the Port Authority also calls for both states to have a majority of its commissioners in their regions, delineated down to the latitude and longitude.
