Hurley town board says public comment review for its proposed fracking moratorium

William J. Kemble

HURLEY >> The Town Board is uncertain how long it will be before a decision is made about whether to move forward with moratorium on fracking and related activities.

Town Supervisor Gary Bellows said during a meeting Monday that more time is needed to review comments from 24 people who spoke at a public hearing last week.

“A lot of them we’re reading from pieces of paper,” he said. “If they want to turn those in, it would be great. If not, we’d have to listen to a tape and start to transcribe it.”
