Firm wants to extend gas pipeline into Steuben

Written by
G. Jeffrey Aaron

Empire Pipeline, a subsidiary of Buffalo-based National Fuel Gas Corp., is seeking federal approval for a 18-mile, $43 million natural gas pipeline that will run through parts of the Steuben County towns of Lindley, Tuscarora and Caton.

Empire submitted an application to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission on March 18, and expects approval during the fall of 2014, said Sandra James, Empire spokesperson. A public meeting on the project was held in Lawrenceville last April.
