Senator Sherrod Brown of Ohio for VP with HRC candidacy?

That's what's Chris Matthews (Tweetie) is pushing on MSNBC.
Matthews interviewed Sen, Brown on his show this evening, and referred to the Senator as Mr. Vice President.

Now, I like Senator Brown, I like Hillary Clinton, and I sometimes like Chris Matthews.
However, I do believe it's premature to be naming anyone Mrs. Clinton's running mate.
What do other DU/Ohioans think?

1. I've heard this before...

All I can say is, if she gets the nomination, and if she chooses Sen. Brown, that would go a long way to make her acceptable to me.

4. Agreed. How about Brown as President?

But putting him on the ticket as anyone's VP would be great - he is Liberal and could carry Ohio.

5. Vice President Columbo?

That's who he reminds me of and I love him! Just give him an over-sized raincoat.

8. I like it

I'm in Ohio, have always liked Sherrod Brown. Would like to see HRC pivot to less of a corporate POV, but like many things about her and plan to vote for her if she runs.

9. I like Hillary and I really like Sharrod

Those two might be the only thing that would get me back into a campaign at this point.

We met Sherrod when we first moved to Ohio 15 years ago, his residence is just across town. I have had many 1:1 conversations with him and of all the politicians in Ohio, he is probably one of the only ones who is working for the 99%.

I would stand with Sherrod.

10. I Absolutely Think This Would Be a Great Ticket

Sherrod Brown as the Democratic nominee for Vice President would be a significant boost to Democrats holding onto Ohio in the 2016 general election...Yet more than that I would support his candidacy because Senator Brown is truly one of the most loyal liberal leaning intelligent politic ans in the United States Senate, and perhaps more importantly he is great humble, intelligent individual in so many spectrum's of Washington Politics, yet he has never forgotten where he came from and how he got into the office he holds.

He isn't a Washington elite but he knows very well how to play the game and he would be a tremendous asset to the Democratic ticket in 2016 and beyond....

11. Two other reasons to support Sen. Sherrod Brown:

1. His wife, Connie Schultz, is a terrific asset, in the manner of Dr. Jill Biden. Ms. Schultz has won a Pulitzer Prize, I believe, as a columnist for the Cleveland Plain-Dealer. She is no longer with that newspaper, but can hold her own in political forums (fora?) and most public speaking occasions.

2. Three Ohio cities, Columbus, Cincinnati, and Cleveland, are in contention for the host city for the Republican National Convention in 2016. There are only four other cities in the nation still in contention, so that gives Ohio a strong possibility of being the locale for the Republicans. Since Ohio is one of the most important "swing states", Sen Sherrod Brown, an Ohio home-boy, on the Democratic ticket would be a good counter-balance to whatever positives the Republicans would get from having their convention in Ohio.

13. GOP will pare down the list and announce late Wednesday

which cities are still in the running for their National Convention in 2016.
Besides the three Ohio cities, other cities remaining on the list include Denver, Las Vegas, Kansas City, Dallas, and Phoenix.

14. RNC announces that Columbus and Phoenix are out

of the running for the GOP National Convention in 2016.
Cincinnati and Cleveland remain on the shorter list at this time.

19. OMG That Is Extremely Great News...

and not only great news because I live in Ohio, but also in my opinion this narrows down significantly the possibility of the Republican Convention being held in Ohio because if they were going to have it in Ohio the most logical place would be in Columbus because it is the capital of Ohio which means Columbus more than any other city in Ohio has the capacity to accommodate the convention and the large numbers of idiots that are sure to flock to it.

Cleveland is a pretty solid Democratic voting district, so that wouldn't make much sense to hold the convention there, and as for Cincinnati it shares a border with Kentucky which is a solid red state that needs no pandering to, and geographically Columbus would have been the ideal choice seeing as it is located in the middle of the state which would provide for more accessibility to all the people who would go from across the state...

just my logic, anyone have an opinion on this matter?

20. Now Columbus is vying for the Democratic National Convention.

That would be quite a coup.

As for the speculation on Cincinnati and Cleveland for the GOP Convention - too many variables, many of which we don't even know - to make an informed guess.
When I say variables, I'm thinking of backroom players, etc. who may have influence of which we're not aware.

21. OMG THE DNC IN COLUMBUS WOULD BE A DREAM COME TRUE FOR ME

Ive never attended a convention and if the Democratic National Convention were to be held here in my home state of Ohio I would do whatever possible to get tickets to the convention and would be a dream come true...

15. There's only one problem:

His wife threatened to divorce him if he ever ran for President.

Now, I'm sure she wouldn't really do that. But this makes me think he's not interested in that job.

17. But Veep can lead to being President...

So I doubt that that would be a viable option either.

I wish it were different. I just love him, and having him help run the country would be fantastic.

18. That is a risk but how often has that happened -

without looking it up- perhaps 1 out of 4 or 5 presidencies.
Presidents died in office of illness in the 1800s, assassinations a few times - I hope never again.
