New voter suppression in Ohio

Has anyone else seen this? I just saw this press release from the Ohio Democratic Party. Apparently, the Republicans in the Senate have inserted an amendment into the transportation budget that would require a driver's license to vote. Gee, I wonder what voters this is meant to keep from the polls? Apparently the Kasich administration loves to be sued for violating civil rights.

So the state will be sued if they pass this. I don't get it and why they inserted this in the state transportation budget.

backup plan, such as insuring that Democrats have an voter ID in case the legal option fails, and if that means spending money for those who cannot afford the IDs, it would be money well spent.

Yes, this is a poll tax, but with the SC uncertain as it is, we really need to cover all bases

Unless they are prevented from voting, no one will give this a second look.

It is unfortunate, but so many will just say, well, I have a drivers license so it will be alright with me.
