Who really stopped Dems from attending Portman speech?

Rob Portman's press secretary said today the GOP U.S. senator wasn't the one who prevented Democrats from attending a political dinner where he spoke Wednesday night.

Justin Smith, chairman of the Sandusky County Republican Party, which co-sponsored the Lincoln Day Dinner fundraising event, this morning took responsibility for denying tickets to potential protesters and said he is proud of it.

But that doesn't quite end the controversy over who turned away Democrats from attending the annual Republican get-together.

Last week, David Koehl, treasurer of the Seneca County Republican Party the gathering's other co-sponsor protested the decision to exclude possible disruptors, saying it stemmed from the Portman staff.

Subscribed to the Dispatch because they backed Hillary and remain a newspaper, not just a news printer....Portman is another one whose picture belongs on a milk carton.

3. My overall feeling is that the newspapers in the state capitals

do a better job at reporting and are a bit more liberal. When I was looking at the Plains Dealer I noticed that they are running the Ohio Matters series and virtually every article is kissing Trump's ass.

4. This was the first time in 100 years (literally) the Dispatch back a Dem

But it was recently sold and is no longer ruled by the Wolfe family, so they can be less partisan now.

But the Plain Dealer used to lean progressive...
