State Rep. Kathleen Clyde announces bid for Ohio secretary of state

State Rep. Kathleen Clyde of Kent, one of the most outspoken Democrats in the General Assembly, announced Tuesday that she will seek to become Ohio’s next secretary of state in the November 2018 election.

Republican Jon Husted, the current secretary of state, is running for governor in 2018.

State Rep. Dorothy Pelanda, R-Marysville, announced her candidacy for secretary of state March 1. State Sen. Frank LaRose, R-Hudson, is widely believed to be considering running against Pelanda in the primary.

The secretary of state oversees the Ohio election process and registers businesses in the states.

2. This would be a good stepping stone

to move from local name recognition to statewide name recognition and set further political campaigns for the future. From the brief description given she appears to be feisty which can be a good thing.

3. She is really good

And Frank LaRose has announced that he is running--which explains why he has backed away from his support of fair districts in Ohio.
