When it comes to White House and health insurance, Kasich asks: "What are they doing?"
Ohio Republican Gov. John Kasich on Sunday added to the chorus of critics who are questioning President Trump's decision to stop paying the subsidies that help cover the out of pocket health care costs of millions of Americans.
Trump's announcement late last week followed an executive order that would permit small businesses to group together to buy "association health plans," which proponents of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) say could lead to higher premiums due to healthy people leaving the ACA exchanges. The order also called for an increase in the time for which short-term policies can be purchased from three months to about a year. These plans can discriminate against people with preexisting conditions and lack other ACA protections, but would likely have lower premiums. “What I don't understand, Chuck, is what are they doing?” the former presidential candidate asked Chuck Todd on NBC's Meet the Press. “Are they just passing these things and people are praising what the president did because of politics? I mean, do they understand the impact that this has on families, on people?” Read more: http://www.cincinnati.com/story/news/politics/2017/10/15/when-comes-white-house-and-health-insurance-kasich-asks-what-they-doing/766040001/
