CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The Cuyahoga County Prosecutor's Office is investigating a county elections worker accused of using her work computer to promote a Cleveland City Council candidate's political fundraiser on county time.
A prosecutor's office spokeswoman confirmed Wednesday that Ivelisse Roig, a bilingual coordinator for the county election's board, is under criminal investigation.
It's illegal under Ohio law for government employees to use public resources for political purposes.
County Elections Director Pat McDonald said prosecutors contacted Roig over the weekend, asking her to contact them to discuss the allegations. Roig, who has been on paid leave since Nov. 27, did not return messages seeking comment.
