Ohio's government drops company accused of rigging state contracts
A contractor accused of scheming to rig and steer nearly $469,000 in over-priced state contracts to his company “will no longer be working” for the state.
Although Steven Zielenksi, the co-owner of Stonyhurst Consulting, and his employees, continued to have access to state information-technology offices as recently as Monday, the firm’s work for the state has concluded, Department of Administrative Services spokesman Tom Hoyt said Tuesday.
Asked if the agency was moving to disbar Virginia-based Stonyhurst from receiving future state contracts — as suggested by Inspector General Randall J. Meyer in his investigation released last week — Hoyt said such an action is an “option” under review.
Hoyt said the inspector general’s report unveiled some facts unknown to state information-technology officials, although The Dispatch last year unveiled many of the details of the contracts flagged in the state probe.
