$2 Million in Repairs Planned for Ohio Governor's Mansion
I can understand a century old home might need a few repairs, but one million dollars to do some work now, and one million dollars put in the bank for later?
I’ll bet if Cordray had done this, the Ohio GOP’s heads would have exploded. https://www.dispatch.com/news/20190311/2-million-in-repairs-planned-for-ohio-governors-residence

1. Grifting republicans
The same mansion that Kasich would not live in order to stay 30 minutes away
in his private home so his daughter could go to a private Christian school. |

2. DeWine
A career trough feeding politician. I thought the tea baggers were against this crap. I guess they don’t exist any more.

3. I din't buy that DeWine along with the current Sec. of State & A.G.'s wins never passed my ...
.... smell test. For the #s to work > 200,000 people who voted for liberal Sherrod Brown
as senator but then voted for the conservatives in state government. |

4. Yep, it's fishy, all right.
But what in Ohio elections ever makes any sense?
How much do you want to bet these house repairs go to a Republican crony’s company. |

5. $2 million sounds reasonable
given the size of the house and the scale of the work. Being on the National Register of Historic Places doesn't help - the roof is slate and copper and can't be altered.

6. Two items that could be included within the repairs that may not appear in the article:
1) Upgrading for technological improvements. I suspect that money will need to spent for wiring high-speed Internet and related office equipment. It could also involve adding a secure conference room.
2) Upgrading for security. This could involve adding security cameras and partitioning rooms for security personnel. |
