Ohio Bars to close at 10pm, starting today.Link to tweet 1. That site is worth a follow or a daily read IMO 2. The 2pm Wine with DeWine pressers are going to be more interesting 3. Without any direct or personal knowledge, I am betting that the statics & staticians have told DeWine next 3 weeks are going to be very bad. Remember he shut down *The Arnold* in early March, 2wks b/4 the country locked down.

2. COVID-19 does not care about time . ..
or what day it is. It does not care who you are, how old you are, and what color nor religion you are and doesn't care about how much power or money you have.

5. the numerous social media postings showing overly crowded patio bars
Have led to a jump in cases in Ohio.
Look up Standard Hall bar, mid May. The guy who owns that chain in at least 2 cities owns part of this IMO. |

4. Drinks make people get all chummy
Social distancing- to whatever extent it exists in the first place- breaks down after a few.

6. Bars are designed to get people to mingle and get closer to each other
You're right about the effects of alcohol, which encourage risky and reckless behavior.
Beyond that, the loud music and social vibe bars try to create encourages people to lean in to each other, and raise their voices so they can be heard over the music and chatter. Both of which encourages the spread. And of course, it's hard to drink with a mask on.... |

7. Look up Standard Hall in Columbus in mid May
It is not the time of day, it is the fact that numerous social media images are showing the agreed to conditions by the bar association are being flouted.
