and now for some positive Oklahoma news - Women's Softball World Series

Tonight Oklahoma plays for the national championship in softball. They won the first game of a three game final.
The Sooners are the #1 seed.

If you have never watched these girls play... you are missing out. I have been watching the series and all the women are fantastic.
One guy posted that he watched from Afghanistan. He said he and his crew really enjoyed it. Even my OSU friends are watching and loving it.

The Sooners play Tennessee tonight on ESPN2

I too have been a fan of softball for years and watching OU progress has been fun, but expected. I even watched Hoosiers today in their honor.
I saw the quiet dignity of Blair Luna after losing a hard fought battle and I felt badly for Jackie Traina when she lost. I don't much care for the Tennessee program
I dislike the media focus on select players, but I understand it.
It was a real joy to see Ricketts bouncing around with her team after victory. Its hard sometimes while watching her to remember that she is still a kid.

They aren't afraid to laugh or cry or jump up and down or even be silly. It's refreshing.

one of the best things OU could do tonight, besides winning, is at the end of the 6th inning the team starts singing "take me out to the ballgame".

it brings joy to the heart to see and feel the happiness of these young women.

Hurray to Keilani for the rbi's and to the pitcher, Gassoingue(sp?)(sorry that I do not remember how to spell her name, I really am). But it was the entire team that brought about this win so hurray to each of them.

The Olympic committee needs to rethink their decision about softball. The professional softball people need to stay away from colleges.

Monday night was just an amazing and exciting game. You know Tennessee had to be a bit demoralized to get that big lead in the 11th and then let it get away. So I figured last night would go a little easier and it did, but it was still a good game. Great job, Sooners!
