Dog found frozen in pet carrier at dumpster in Fayette County, PA
PA State police are investigating after a small dog was found dead and frozen inside a pet carrier in Fayette County.
The dog was left next to a dumpster at Dunlap Creek Lake in Menallen Township.
Michelle Means found the dog Thursday night. She told Pittsburgh's Action News 4 that she checked the area that night because pets had been abandoned in that area before. Means said she didn't know how long the dog was in the pet carrier and she immediately contacted state police.
"I feel so bad for the fact that it even happened, that poor baby being in there freezing to death like that," Means said. "I don't know how or why, but it shouldn't have happened."
There are shelters in Fayette County that accept pets, including Fayette Friends of Animals no kill shelter.
