HARRISBURG — More than 100 busloads of people are expected to make their way to the Pennsylvania Capitol on Monday for the state’s second annual March for Life.

Organizers say they are coming to show they are redoubling their efforts to support the protection of pre-born children in what is the first Pennsylvania march since the U.S. Supreme Court overturning of the landmark Roe v. Wade decision in June.

A spokesman for the host organization, Pennsylvania Family Institute of Harrisburg, said this year’s Pennsylvania March for Life will be both a celebration of that court ruling that leaves the legality of abortion up to each state and a call to action for state lawmakers to pass laws that protect life.

“It’s put more importance on the states and we’re seeing many attacks on the aspect of just trying to say life is a human right and should be protected,” said institute spokesman Dan Bartkowiak. “So it’s those in the pro-life movement that are just coming together to say life should be protected. That’s what Monday is all about.”

This event is taking place tomorrow Monday, Sept. 19th in Harrisburg.

Hey I'm OK with people demonstrating and saying they're "Pro-Life" - whatever that means. To me it means they're anti-abortion, but whatever. The problem is when these people insist on using the state laws to force THEIR choice not to use abortion on the rest of us who don't have the same religious outlook or the same moral/cultural values.

A person CAN be Pro-Life, and still be Pro-Choice, you know? That's when we all agree that the decision on whether or not to be a parent, whether or not to carry a pregnancy to term, should be left to the woman and her doctor.

But these people aren't because they want to force THEIR CHOICES on all the rest of us.

Let's be clear: they call themselves "Pro-Life" but really - they are "Anti-Choice."

I was raised a Catholic and I've been hearing this stuff for most of my life.

They aren't - and they never will be - "Pro-Life."

This is the fakest term ever invented.

They'll get to force women to do what only megalomaniacs have wanted to do for decades. Take Away a woman's bodily autonomy and force every woman who carries a zygote to carry that unborn thing until it is birthed. She doesn't get to choose at all. It's all simply forced on her. Forced birthers is what they are; Not pro-life, not anti-choice, they are forced birthers.

Forcing someone to birth gives that birth very little significance because everyone has to carry the zygotes.

I've actually gone to counter protests these crazy forced birth events in PA. Got into a lot of arguments. Their final arguments are always about some evidence free god.

The sad fact is that often when an unwed, too-young mother is forced to give birth against her will, both the child and the mother become burdens of the state and local governments (the Pennsylvania taxpayers).

Once again, we should be asking ... why does the state of Pennsylvania have any say in this at all?
