Roll Call: PA. Repubs fear massive Democratic voter turnout to defeat Corbett will hurt others

http://atr.rollcall.com/corbett-nosedive-scares-house-gop-in-pennsylvania/

"Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Corbett’s tumble in the polls has made Republicans nervous about four pivotal Philadelphia-area House districts.

Local GOP operatives fear this 2014 scenario: Corbett drags down the ticket for perennial targets Reps. Patrick Meehan, Jim Gerlach, Michael G. Fitzpatrick and Charlie Dent. Meanwhile, top potential Corbett foes count southeastern Pennsylvania as their political base, driving Democratic turnout in their suburban House districts.

“The impending blowout of Corbett could cause severe Republican losses downballot, hitting hardest in the southeast,” said a top GOP operative in Pennsylvania, who was granted anonymity to speak candidly about the governor. “The old axiom is still true that any Republican majority in Congress is built on a foundation of Philadelphia collar county Republicans. It’s an untenable situation.”

Corbett is one of the most unpopular governors in the country, and a Quinnipiac University poll released Monday showed 47 percent of survey respondents disapproved of his job performance as governor (compared with 38 percent who approved). The poll also showed 50 percent of voters surveyed say he does not deserve re-election, while 32 percent of respondents backed him for a second term."

I wouldn't try those poll taxes, better known as photo ID laws, if I were you.

I hope One-term Tom takes the repukes down with him. He's so bad even Republicans would vote Democratic in '14.

Lots can happen in the next 18 months. If the economy improves then incumbents will do well regardless if they had anything to do with it or not. Will not be surprised if the Repubs hold these gerrymandered seats and maybe pick up Schwart's if she decides runs for governor.

I honestly hope for some D pickups, but living in PA has been disappointing to say the least as far as election results.

and I'll be door-to-dooring it in my bright red district. Corbett has given me a lot of talking points. From Act 13 zoning rights theft, to his latest "the unemployed are drug addicts" gaff--- I can make headway here.
One term Tommy is going down, and I hope a lot of his rethug "enablers" in the house & senate go down with him.

Tom Corporate has been a disgrace to our wonderful state (well, we should be able to say that it is wonderful, in spite of our government system - the largest bunch of blood-suckers in the USA!).
We have large bunches of "representatives" working to make sure they get to keep their jobs and keep the $$$ flowing into their pockets.
IE: State Rep. Mike Turd's Eye (spelled Turzai ), after redistricting efforts by the house and senate, said, "That wins the state for Romney."
How did that work out for you, tool?

In PA, in the 2012 elections for members of the US House, Democratic candidates received more votes than Republican candidates. However, the Democrats were corralled into a few weirdly shaped districts, which made it impossible for them to affect most of the key House elections. This is the result of gerrymandering by our illustrious PA. legislature.
