Republican Civil War breaking out over PA. State Senate Race in York Co.

http://www.yorkblog.com/ydrpolitics/2014/01/09/politicspa-says-sen-mike-waugh-planning-to-resign-soon-will-trigger-a-special-election/

The current Republican State Senator for much of York County is resigning. A special election is being held. It is a largely Republican district. Scott Wagner is an outspoken teabagger who made his money in landfills and now runs a large garbage collection business. He has been critical of Corbett for not being conservative enough, and threatened to run against him in a primary.

Wagner is now running for the Senate race. He insists that the Republican establishment is desperately looking for a candidate to oppose him, and that the Party will fund that opponent against Wagner.

This is very similar to what happened in Schuylkill County a couple of years ago. The local landfill baron (Rich) ran a very aggressive campaign in the primary against an established relatively conservative establishment Republican State Senator(Brightbill), who won re-election. The landfill baron had claimed the incumbent Senator was not conservative enough.
