Pennsylvania court halts any action against attorney general

By MARC LEVY
The Associated Press
HARRISBURG, Pa. — Pennsylvania's high court has at least temporarily blocked a prosecutor from taking action on a grand jury recommendation that the attorney general be charged criminally in an investigation of alleged leaks of secret investigative material by her office.
A Supreme Court spokesman said Thursday the halt is effective "until further order of the court." Matters in the case are otherwise under seal.
Attorney General Kathleen Kane says she's done nothing wrong. The court will hear her challenge in March to the legality of the special prosecutor involved in the investigation of her office.
A grand jury last month recommended that Kane be charged with perjury, false swearing, official oppression and obstruction.
The case had been sent to Montgomery County's district attorney to decide whether to charge Kane.

From the article:

"The Montgomery County district attorney, Risa Ferman, has not spoken publicly about the matter and it is not clear whether she will obey the order."

It would be nice to get a lawyer to weigh in on this complicated matter.

I think she'll obey the order. She's running for judge of Common Pleas Court next year. She'll win easily. However, I'm not so sure she'll want the reputation of not obeying orders of a superior court hanging on her door as she walks in.
